Pacific Northwest Astrologer, David Pond will be the guest of the Arizona Society of
Astrologers at the Scottsdale Senior Citizens Center, 7375 East 2nd Street in Scottsdale,
AZ.David has a BA in Education and
a Master of Science degree in "Experimental Metaphysics" from Central Washington
University. He is a national speaker and has been a professional astrologer since 1976.
His book Chakras for Beginners has recently been published by Llewellyn. David is also the
co-author of The Metaphysical Handbook (Reflecting Pond Publications, 1984), and a
contributing author in two of Llewellyn's New World Astrology Series: Exploring
Consciousness in the Horoscope and Astrological Counseling. His newest book, The Art of

Friday
at 7:30 PM Pond will present a 90-minute lecture "The Outer Planets: Abnormal
Behavior, Creativity and Spirituality". His premise is that the outer planets,
Uranus, Neptune and Pluto, function as the "evolutionary agents" of the
planetary family. They force us to deal with issues that are outside of our control. They
are beyond the realm of the ego, thus when one attempts to express these outer planets
through the ego, distortion occurs: abnormal behavior. However, these same outer planets
can lead to creativity and spiritual evolution when integrated into a healthy
consciousness. We will explore the outer planets in all of their ramifications in the
birthchart-the pitfalls and opportunities, in the natal chart and with transits and
progressions. The doors open at 7:00 PM and the cost is $10.
Saturday
at 12:30 PM Pond will conduct a workshop "The Art of Relationships". Much of the
material in this workshop comes from David's soon to be published book, The Art of
Relationships. My premise is that we hunger for relationships that engage all of our
planets, not just a few. Each of the planets has a role in our psyche and a role in
relationships as well. We will explore each planet's needs and opportunities within our
own charts and then explore relationship dynamics: The interaction between charts through
synastry, house placement and composites. Strategies for dealing with difficult dynamics
will be presented. Karmic ties revealed through the charts will also be explored. The
doors open at Noon and the cost is $15.
